Ingredients

  • 600 g (1.3 lb) chicken thigh fillets boneless & Skinless
  • 2 tablespoon honey
  • 1½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • 2 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Method

  1. Combine honey, garlic powder, soy sauce, and olive oil in a large bowl and mix well.
  2. Add the chicken thighs to the marinade and toss to ensure each piece is well coated.
  3. Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, preferably overnight for deeper flavor.
  4. Preheat the air fryer to 200°C (400°F) if your model requires preheating.
  5. Place the marinated chicken thighs in the air fryer basket and cook for 13 to 15 minutes, flipping halfway through cooking.
  6. Check that the chicken is thoroughly cooked using a meat thermometer or by ensuring no pink remains.
  7. Remove chicken from the air fryer and brush with any reserved juices from the bottom of the basket.
  8. Sprinkle sesame seeds and sliced spring onion on top before serving immediately for extra taste and presentation.

Notes

  • For a gluten-free version, substitute regular soy sauce with tamari or a gluten-free soy sauce. To make it soy-free, use coconut aminos instead of soy sauce. Marinate chicken overnight for best flavor. Using a meat thermometer is highly recommended to avoid overcooking and keep the chicken juicy. Spoon extra marinade juices over chicken when serving for added moisture.
