Ingredients

  • 1 can condensed Cream of Mushroom soup (10.5 ounces)
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon soy sauce
  • 4 cups cut green beans (2 cans green beans, one 16 ounce package frozen green beans, or 1 1/2 pounds fresh green beans)
  • 1 1/3 cup crispy French fried onions (divided)
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper (to taste)

Method

  1. Spray a 9x9 casserole dish with cooking spray.
  2. If using fresh green beans, clean, cut, and blanch them in boiling water for 2 minutes. If using canned green beans, drain in a colander.
  3. Mix the condensed Cream of Mushroom soup and milk together until smooth. Stir in the soy sauce.
  4. Add green beans and 2/3 cup of the crispy French fried onions (about half). Season with pepper and mix well.
  5. Spread the green bean mixture evenly in the prepared casserole dish.
  6. For Air Fryer: Bake at 350°F for 10 minutes. Stir, then sprinkle remaining onions on top and cook for 2 more minutes until browned.
  7. For Oven: Bake at 350°F for 25 minutes. Stir, then sprinkle remaining onions on top and bake for 5 more minutes until golden brown.

Notes

  • For best results, use fresh green beans blanched for a bright, crisp texture. This casserole can be made ahead and refrigerated before baking. If desired, add a sprinkle of shredded cheese for extra cheesiness.
