Ingredients

  • 4 medium-sized russet potatoes, washed and scrubbed thoroughly
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • Butter (optional)
  • Sour cream (optional)
  • Chives (optional)
  • Cheese (optional)
  • Bacon bits (optional)

Method

  1. Wash the potatoes thoroughly under running water to remove any dirt. Scrub them with a brush if necessary.
  2. Dry the potatoes with a clean towel.
  3. Using a fork, poke several holes in each potato (about 6-8 times) to allow steam to escape during cooking.
  4. In a bowl, mix together olive oil, sea salt, and black pepper. Brush or spray this mixture generously over the potatoes, ensuring they are well-coated.
  5. Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for about 5 minutes.
  6. Place the potatoes in the air fryer basket, making sure they are not touching each other for even cooking. Cook for 30-35 minutes, flipping halfway through for even crispiness.
  7. Check if they’re done by inserting a knife or fork into the thickest part of the potato; it should slide in easily. If they need more time, continue cooking in 5-minute increments.
  8. Once fully cooked, remove the potatoes and let them rest for a few minutes.
  9. Serve with your favorite toppings like butter, sour cream, chives, cheese, or bacon bits.

Notes

  • For best results, use russet potatoes for a fluffy interior. Adjust cooking time based on the size of the potatoes. Store leftover baked potatoes in the refrigerator and reheat in the air fryer for crispiness.
