Ground Turkey Lettuce Wraps Easy Fresh Weeknight Dinner

Ingredients
  

  • 1¼ lb. lean ground turkey or ground chicken
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 4 green onions, thinly sliced
  • 1 8 oz can sliced water chestnuts, drained and coarsely chopped
  • 3 tablespoons hoisin sauce
  • 2 tablespoons lower-sodium soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 2 teaspoons roasted red chili paste
  • Pinch of salt
  • 12 Bibb or Butter lettuce leaves

Method
 

  1. Warm the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Add the ground turkey, minced garlic, and ground ginger to the skillet and cook, breaking the meat apart, for around 6 minutes until it is fully browned.
  3. Transfer the cooked turkey mixture to a large bowl and stir in the sliced green onions and chopped water chestnuts.
  4. In a small bowl, mix together the hoisin sauce, soy sauce, rice vinegar, and roasted red chili paste until smooth.
  5. Pour the sauce over the turkey mixture and toss everything until well coated.
  6. Scoop approximately 1/4 cup of the turkey mixture into each lettuce leaf.
  7. Serve immediately and enjoy your fresh, flavorful lettuce wraps!

Notes

  • For extra flavor, chill the turkey mixture before assembling the wraps. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
