Stir in the tomato sauce, cream cheese, and half of the shredded cheddar cheese, mixing until all the cheese has melted smoothly; season with Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper, then simmer for 5 minutes.
Pour the mixture into a casserole dish and sprinkle the remaining cheddar cheese evenly on top.
Bake in the oven for about 25 to 30 minutes until the cheese melts and turns golden brown.
