Ingredients

  • 2 cups uncooked macaroni/pasta of your choice
  • 3 cups water
  • 3/4 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 2.5 cups sharp cheddar freshly grated
  • 2 cups mozzarella freshly grated
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp pepper
  • 1 tbsp garlic powder
  • 1 tbsp onion powder
  • 1.5 tbsp paprika
  • 1 tsp mustard
  • 1.5 tsp sugar

Method

  1. Grate the cheese and prepare all the ingredients.
  2. Add the dry macaroni and water to a pot and bring to a boil over medium-high heat.
  3. Once boiling, reduce heat to medium-low and cook the pasta until al dente, stirring occasionally.
  4. Allow most of the water to evaporate but keep a little bit in the pot.
  5. Reduce heat to low and stir in heavy cream, cheddar, mozzarella, salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, mustard, and sugar.
  6. Mix until cheese is fully melted and sauce is creamy.
  7. Adjust seasoning to taste if needed.
  8. Serve hot and enjoy your creamy one pot mac and cheese!

Notes

  • *Use at least 1-2 cups more water than pasta to prevent dryness.
  • *Feel free to use your favorite cheese combinations.
  • *Adding sugar balances flavors without making it sweet.
  • *If water evaporates too soon, add more water and lower heat to finish cooking pasta.
