Potatoes Smoked Sausage: Easy Delicious Skillet Recipe

Ingredients
  

  • 1 pound smoked sausage (halal-certified, no pork)
  • 4 cups baby potatoes, halved or quartered
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 packet ranch seasoning mix (make sure it’s halal-certified)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese (or a mix of your favorite cheeses)
  • 1/2 cup sour cream (optional, for serving)
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (optional, for garnish)

Method
 

  1. Preheat the Oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Wash and halve or quarter the baby potatoes.
  3. Slice the smoked sausage into 1/4-inch thick rounds.
  4. In a small bowl, mix ranch seasoning, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper.
  5. Place potatoes in a large bowl, drizzle with olive oil, add half the seasoning mix, and toss to coat evenly.
  6. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or grease lightly.
  7. Spread the potatoes in a single layer on the sheet.
  8. Scatter sliced smoked sausage evenly over the potatoes.
  9. Roast in the oven for 35-40 minutes, stirring halfway through.
  10. Remove from oven and sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese over the potatoes and sausage.
  11. Return to oven and bake 5 more minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly.
  12. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley and serve hot with optional sour cream.

Notes

  • For added flavor, try using different cheeses like mozzarella or pepper jack. Leftovers can be refrigerated for up to 3 days and reheated in the oven or skillet.
