Free Printable Junk Journal Pages (Vintage Backgrounds)
Printable junk journal pages are the base of every spread. These six sit under your layers: a lined page with a lace-style border, a blank page with corner flourishes, a dotted page with sprigs, a grid page with a frame, a ledger-style lined page with a margin line, and a wide-ruled page with a leafy garland.
Vintage Paper Pack: 6 Aged Junk Journal Pages

How to use it: Print on matte paper, trim or tear the edges, tea-stain them if you like, and glue them in as backgrounds for your layers.
Because the paper is printed at 300 DPI, the grain and soft stains stay crisp at full page size. Print two copies of a page you love and tear one for a ragged edge. Looking for what to put on top? Our 50 junk journal ideas show how to layer pages like these.
Free Junk Journal Ephemera: Tags, Labels, Tickets and Cards
Free printable junk journal ephemera gives a page its small details. You do not need a pile of vintage finds to start: a few tags, labels and cards add layers, color and room for words.
Vintage Tags, Labels and Tickets

How to use it: Cut along the dashed lines, then tuck a tag behind a photo, tape a label under a heading, or slip a ticket into a pocket.

Journaling Cards With 12 Writing Prompts

How to use it: Cut the cards out, write a few lines, and glue one edge into a spread so the card can be lifted like a little flap.
Free Junk Journal Pocket Template
Pockets turn a flat page into something you can open. This template makes one scalloped pocket that is about 4 by 4 inches, with a glue tab on each side and at the bottom, so it holds a few cards, tags or a photo.
Tuck Spot Pocket Template

How to use it: Cut it out, fold the three tabs, glue it down and leave the top open to hold tags, photos and cards.

Free Junk Journal Starter Checklist
Not sure what to gather before you print? This one-page checklist lists every supply for a first journal and the ten simple rules in short form. It is the same PDF as in our beginners guide, so you only need one copy.
Black and White (Ink-Saver) Junk Journal Printables
Every printable above also comes in a black and white version: a white page with grey linework and no stains. It is the better pick for a test print, a school notebook, a planner-style journal, or any time your ink is running low. You can also print the black and white page and color it with watercolor pencils or tea for a hand-made look.

How to Print Junk Journal Printables
Best Paper for Junk Journal Printables
Matte paper is easiest to glue and to write on, and plain copy paper is fine for backgrounds. Use light cardstock for the pocket, the tags and the labels so they hold their shape. If you want a sturdier page, glue the printed sheet to a thicker paper with a glue stick.
Printer Settings for Actual Size
Choose Actual size or 100% in the print window, not Fit to page, and pick the paper size that matches the file: US Letter (8.5 x 11 in) or A4 (210 x 297 mm). The tags, cards and pocket are drawn at real measurements, so scaling them would change their size. The vintage papers run to the edge of the page, so a home printer will leave a thin white border: trim it off or tear the edges, which looks lovely anyway.
Ink-Saving Tips
- Print the black and white version for test prints.
- Choose Draft or Standard quality for backgrounds you will cover with layers.
- Print only the pages you need: in the print window, type a page range such as 1-2.
How to Use Your Printables in a Junk Journal
Once your pages are printed, the fun part starts. Here are three quick ways to begin:
- Glue a printed page as a background, add a tag and a ticket, and write one line about your day.
- Fold the pocket, glue it onto a spread and fill it with a journaling card and a pressed flower.
- Layer two papers, tear the edges and add lace or washi tape. You will find more spreads in our junk journal ideas post.

Free Junk Journal Printables FAQ
Are these junk journal printables really free?
Yes. Every file on this page is free to download and print for your own journals. There is nothing to buy and no trial: the Etsy kits we link to are simply bigger collections if you ever want more.
Do I need to sign up or give my email to download?
No. Tap a button and the PDF opens or downloads right away. We do not ask for an email address, and nothing on this page is locked behind a form.
What paper should I print junk journal pages on?
Plain matte paper works for backgrounds and is easy to glue. Use light cardstock for the pocket and the tags so they stand up to handling. Glossy photo paper tends to resist glue and shows fingerprints, so save it for photos.
How do I print them at the right size?
Open the PDF, choose Print, and pick Actual size or 100% (not Fit to page). Select the paper size that matches the file, US Letter or A4. The tags, cards and pocket are drawn to real-world measurements, so scaling would change them.
Are the files US Letter or A4?
Both. Every printable comes in US Letter (8.5 x 11 in) for the US and Canada, and in A4 (210 x 297 mm) for the rest of the world, each with a colour and a black and white version. The two ZIP downloads hold all of them.
Can I sell junk journals made with these printables?
Please do not sell the printed pages or use them in anything you sell. Using them in a journal you keep or give as a gift is welcome. If you would like to use them in a product you sell, write to us first.
Please do not re-upload, resell or share the files themselves. Send friends a link to this page instead, so they always get the latest version.
Is there a black and white or ink-saving version?
Yes. Every printable has a black and white version on a white background with grey linework. It uses far less ink than the aged paper and is the better choice for school, bullet-style journals or a quick test print.
What is junk journal ephemera?
Ephemera means small paper pieces that were not meant to last: tags, tickets, labels, stamps, receipts and little notes. In a junk journal they are layered onto pages as decoration and memory keepers.
Where do the designs come from?
We make them ourselves. The aged papers are generated from paper-grain textures, and the tags, labels, cards and pocket are original vector drawings, so there are no stock images in the files. The photos on this page are styled inspiration images made with an AI tool; the preview images of the printable pages show the real files.
